Common Scholarship Application

The Wellesley Scholarship Foundation (WSF) will consider applications for its need-based scholarships from applicants that meet the following criteria:

  • Applicants must intend to pursue either an undergraduate degree or a post-high school technical certification program.  WSF does not award graduate school scholarships.

  • Applicants must be residents of Wellesley who are graduates of either a public or private high school, or non-residents of Wellesley who are graduates of Wellesley High School.

  • Applicants must have applied for financial aid directly from the college or university they plan to attend, and WSF will only review an application after receiving a copy of the financial aid award letter provided by the educational institution.

  • Applicants must complete a CSS Financial Aid Profile, and select code #0564 for WSF to be a recipient of that information.

  • Applicants must provide the first two pages of parental tax returns for the most recent tax year.

  • Applicants must provide a copy of their school transcript, and must maintain a cumulative 2.0 grade point average each year they apply for a scholarship from WSF.

The Wellesley Scholarship Foundation (WSF) also coordinates the scholarships for multiple community organizations.  If the applicant eligibility criteria for those community organization scholarships differs from what is listed above or requires supplemental information, it will be noted within this application.

We value the privacy of your personal and financial information.  Until an award is made, no applicant information is shared beyond the WSF Scholarship Committee (5 people) and the WSF administrator.  If an award is made, names of recipients as well as brief biographies based on the personal information that you provide in the application questions and essays will be shared with the WSF board, with donors of any named scholarship you are receiving and at the WSF award ceremony.  No financial information including information uploaded in your CSS, tax returns or financial aid letters will be shared beyond the scholarship committee and WSF administrator at any time.  Information is only shared within this group of six on a need to know basis.  Award amounts will also be kept confidential, although will be shared with the WSF treasurer so that award checks can be written. Scholarship files are shredded after the student’s college graduation.
