Awards & Eligibility
Need-Based Awards
Students may apply for need-based scholarships at any point before March 1st of their senior year of high school, and March 1st before their senior year of college. Applicants must be graduates of Wellesley High School, or residents of Wellesley who are graduates of either a public or private high school. If demonstrated financial need exists, students are eligible to receive multi-year awards. However, they must reapply annually and must also maintain a cumulative 2.0 grade point average each year they apply for a scholarship.
Merit-Based Awards
Only high school seniors who are Wellesley residents may apply for our two merit-based awards, which are given annually to one male and one female graduating student. Competition for these scholarships is keen, and successful applicants have excellent academic records and evidence of strong extracurricular involvement. These awards are renewable annually assuming acceptable academic performance and continued residency in Wellesley.
